We provide funding and logistical support for research collaboration, academic mobility, and other engagement activities through calls for proposals, hosting meetings and events, and facilitating dialogue on key issues in the bilateral cooperation agenda. Our binational team is based at UC Riverside in California and Casa de la Universidad de California in Mexico City. Research and Innovation (open to learn more) Small Grants for Conferences & Travel UC researchers can apply for funding to present at a conference in Mexico or to host an event at a UC campus. Funding available: $5,000 over 6 months Short Research Stays UC graduate students can apply for three months of funding for to complete research stays in Mexico. Funding available: $5,750 over 3 months Joint Research Funds UC researchers can apply for two years of funding for collaborative research projects with unique Mexican academic partners. Funding available: $50,000+ over 24 months Latino Studies Projects UC researchers can submit a proposal for a research project focused on Latino, Hispanic, or Chicano communities in California and connections to Mexico. Funding available: $150,000 over 24 months Strategic Research Projects UC researchers can submit a research proposal for action research projects that engage academic collaborators and non-academic stakeholders on key issues in the US-Mexico binational relationship.
